L82 SERIES 350 cu in. USED FROM 1970-1972.The 3970010 casting number was most commonly used to build 350s. Chances are probably 99.5% that its a 350. Also, he said he got it out of a truck so that eliminates the 302 and almost completely eliminates the 327. Dustinweaver, what year truck did you take it out of? It is a casting 3970010 block. Thepan is off and is a 2 bolt main. Is there any way to know if its a 302, 327 or 350 or did they all use the same crank and rods. The entire casting number (3970010) will be behind the left-side head surface, so you can always look there to be sure.The 010 block casting was a VERY common 4in bore block. It was MACHINED in both 2 and 4bolt configurations. The width of the registers (that's the gap in the main web where the caps fit), FOR A SB, is what determines 2 or 4bolt configuration.
