I'd say Medium armor is the best compromise because you get some of the mobility and some of the armor. Heavy armor is great if you really don't dodge much and just get punched in the jaw a lot though. This is my experience using heavy armor, though. The flexibility kits might be better for medium armor since they don't weigh enough to make reduction kits that useful.
