ERISS: I'll choose Berzerkers, because I play nature lovers (woodelf ranger in all games). I don't care about their magic. I didn't choose Clerics because they are too fond of technology. I didn't choose Outlaws because they are too egotist. That's how I am too, but I joined the Clerics because of Jax. Jax saw the Clerics as just common sense ...It depends a lot on your faction, and what sort of weapon types and enchantments are available. E.g. the energy bladed mace is a cleric item. Fire/poison is a berserker specialty. Outlaws have chainswords and radiation/bleeding damage. (Can't remember if it's just the elements that are faction restricted, or also the weapon types).The one that interests you the most. Clerics use tech and are religious zealots, Berserkers use magic and are trying to restore the land, Outlaws use drugs and do outlaw things. As far as I know, aside from backstory, they all relatively match each other in some way but with different mechanics/styles. #3.
Good luck, have fun. Rebel path (no faction) is meant to be a challenge option for subsequent playthrough. You get no additional skills, no special armor, and less quests. The armor you get as Rebel is about 1 tier weaker than faction armors. You should definitely pick a faction on your first playthrough.Of the non-retarded factions Clerics seem like the good altruistic guys, but are very week and lack cool stuff they can give me (only 1 armor and puny 2 skills in their tree). Berserkers seem to be doing okay, managing to control Fort without losing Goliet but I've already joined them in Elex 1.
