Not so i said, and i just got the 2 recalls done, brake light switch and rear coil springs. i found an independent ex-Subaru tech-mechanic. he said it is exactly the lockup solenoid. remove and replace it wih a used OEM one, the gasket and CVT fluid top off. it was around $281 and change. shifts like new no lights. done in 3 to 4 hours.I have a 2018 SF w X-Mode and 65000 miles. On a trip quite a ways from home, after pulling over for a few minutes without shutting off the engine and starting from a complete stop, it lit up several fault lights and (I believe) went into limp mode (or at least it wouldn't upshift).
