From my experience if they start a bale the only thing to stop them from turning is the slip clutch, chain breaks, gearbox goes down or something else mechanical from what I have seen. You can pull the Vermeer with a smaller tractor and it will take hay at least 2 gears faster. The NH is a good machine because it uses the old expired Vermeer patents, but why pay more for older technology & a discontinued model when you can have a New Vermeer Rebel 5400.
