Probably your accuracy is at 0%. For me the first training perk does the job to increase accuracy. potions do a lot. esp after realm. maybe consider magically skipping 20 years and progressing. The first time I went through to now, I now need WAY more damage to take out the purple bars (which requires banishing as long as you have the rainboppo) so if you are using rift seeker, the game THINKS you are able to output damage way more than you actually can, so it may scale faster.
